Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most talented actors in the world. I mean, there’s just no argument about that fact. You can definitely catch me tuning in to every new project of his! The actor’s latest one is the Western crime drama film Killers of the Flower Moon. Is it streaming on Netflix?

The answer is, no. Killers of the Flower Moon is not streaming on Netflix. That’s for two reasons. First, the production debuted exclusively in theaters on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023. Second, after its run on the big screen, the film will be available to watch on another streamer instead of Netflix. This is because that company produced the movie, which of course means they own the streaming and distribution rights of the Western.

So if it’s not going to come to Netflix eventually, where will you be able to watch DiCaprio in his latest role? We’ve got the answer for you below!

Where Killers of the Flower Moon will be streaming

Following its run in theaters, Killers of the Flower Moon will be streaming on Apple TV+. That’s because Apple Studios handled the production side of things. If you don’t have a subscription, you can do so for $9.99/month. The film will begin streaming on the platform on Jan. 12. In a press release, all the streamer said is that the DiCaprio-led film will “premiere globally on Apple TV+ following its exclusive theatrical run.”

This isn’t usually how Apple runs things. Most of the time, movies produced by the studio just go to streaming immediately. However, with big names attached to the project and the very important story the crime drama tells, I’m not surprised the company chose to go this route. I certainly can’t fault them. And even though it’s not coming to Netflix, I really recommend everyone watch it when it comes to Apple TV+. Or, you can rent or purchase the movie through Amazon Prime, Vudu, Google Play, and more.

DiCaprio stars as Ernest Burkhart and is joined onscreen by Robert De Niro as Ernest’s uncle William King Hale; Lily Gladstone as Ernest’s Native American wife Mollie Burkhart; Jesse Plemons as Tom White; Cara Jade Myers as Anna Brown, JaNae Collins as Reta; Jillian Dion as Minnie; and Tantoo Cardinal as Lizzie Q.

The Western crime drama, directed by Martin Scorsese, is based on the true-story of the Osage Nation in the 1920s. During this time, there were multiple murders of Native Americans after the discovery of oil underneath their land brought money to the tribe, per the synopsis. This caused the Native Americans to be some of the richest people overnight.

Their success though “immediately attracted white interlopers.” They stole from those who are part of the Osage Nation until “resorting to murder.” The story in the movie portrays the horrific crimes and how the suspicious murders come to light, all with the love between Ernest and Mollie in the background. It’s a tale “where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal.”
