The first project Stephen Amell took on after his role as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in The CW’s popular superhero series Arrow is Heels. The talent traded in his green suit and bow and arrow for singlets in the wrestling ring. With the show now canceled by Starz, some of you fans might be wondering if there’s another platform streaming the series.

Unfortunatley, Heels is not streaming on Netflix at this time. Starz canceled the pro wrestling series in September 2023 after two seasons. And if that wasn’t enough to rub salt into the wound for fans, the show is also no longer available to watch on the network’s streaming app.

If you head over to check out the Starz catalog, Heels is now noticeably absent. The only way to watch Heels now is by purchasing the episodes or seasons on YouTube, Apple TV, Prime Video, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV.

This has been an unfortunate trend started by Warner Bros. right before the company merged with Discovery, changed the name of HBO Max to Max, and started removing certain productions without notifying viewers.

However, it is possible that there’s another reason the show is no longer on Starz that may not be ill-intentioned.

It’s possible Heels is being shopped around

Upon the news of cancellation, showrunner Mike O’Malley told Entertainment Weekly that he and the team are “actively shopping the show around” to other studios. This interview was published on Sept. 29. Of course things like this take time and it doesn’t happen right away, unless it’s a phenomenon like Lucifer. But you think back to Manifest, Netflix initially passed on the opportunity to save it before announcing it was going to give the supernatural drama a fourth season to wrap up the story.

Anyway, back to Heels. So what does it being shopped around have to do with episodes being removed from Starz? It’s possible that O’Malley has found a new home for the show, which could also mean that the new network bought the rights to the series. And so, there’s potential that another company is going to bring the series back for a third season, and start streaming the previous two on their platform.

After all, Heels was never supposed to end with that season 2 cliffhanger. Here’s what the showrunner said to EW:

"I really do think it’s going to have a life someplace else. We did not intend, nor do we intend, for [the season 2 finale] to be the last episode of the show."

There’s many possibilities on which potential streamer could have saved the show. Could it be Netflix? Maybe. There’s a lot of companies right now and it’s hard to say which one could be interested in it. But again, we do want to stress that this is just a guess. The unfortunate news could be that the show has not been saved, and Starz simply chose to remove it. Only time will tell.

However, I do hope that we at least get a third season to wrap the story up. After all, season 2 left us with a cruel cliffhanger! By the end, we see Amell’s Jack Spade go head-to-head with his brother, Ace. The match is important as they’re hoping their league can get a streaming deal with a company called Continuum. But when did our hearts stop? It’s when Jack does a flying leap and injures himself, telling his brother he can no longer feel his legs. I mean, that is just cruel to end it there!
