Young Royals will end in March 2024

If you’re like us, you’re probably counting down the days until season 3 graces our screens with all its regal glory. On Jan. 24, Netflix officially announced that Young Royals would return for its final episodes on Monday, March 11. However, not all of the episodes will drop on that day. According to the streamer, the series finale will stream one week later on March 18.

On Oct. 17, the streamer shared a first-look clip from the final season and revealed it will be released in 2024. On Dec. 15, Netflix released another teaser for season 3 and revealed the season would be released in March 2024. Check out the teaser below!

While the streamer has yet to unveil a full teaser or trailer for the final season, another first-look clip from season 3 was released. Check it out in the video below!

Along with the confirmation that the final season would be released in 2024 rather than sometime at the end of 2023, Netflix also unveiled the first footage from season 3. In the clip, Prince Wilhelm and Simon are at the palace and sharing a quiet, though very charged, moment together.

Wilhelm appears to be pulling Simon away for another, ahem, special moment together, and it’s sure to be a scene that will have every fan squealing at their screens when it’s released. Season 3 wrapped filming in June 2023

Netflix shared the news on June 28, along with a video of the show’s stars. Edvin Ryding and Omar Rudberg teased what we can look forward to in the third season, with Ryding revealing that his favorite scene to film was the finals scene. Rudberg shared that his favorite moment from the season was when they had to shoot in the woods all night. I can’t wait to see the moments they’re talking about!

Rudberg also took to his personal Twitter account on June 28 to talk about the “emotional day” he and his co-stars had when they wrapped the final season of Young Royals. “This is THE season,” he wrote. For Ryding’s part, he seemed at a loss for words on his Twitter account, saying he was “not really functioning right now.”

“feeling all kinds of emotions right now and have been for the last 24hrs. but just know this, the gratitude i feel is insane. i love you. we love you. forever,” Ryding wrote in another tweet.

On April 13, Netflix announced on Twitter that the third and final season of Young Royals was in production. The streamer shared three photos of the cast posing with each other on set, holding up three fingers to symbolize and celebrate the third season. In addition to the adorable photos of the cast getting to work on the final season, Netflix also shared a 30-second video of the cast reuniting for the first table read of the season. It’s bittersweet seeing them hug as they get back to work and prepare to film new episodes for the last time. But it’s intriguing to hear their reactions to the first script!

We’re betting that season 3 will explore the fallout of Wilhelm’s earth-shattering confession and how the Swedish public reacts to their future king being a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community.

Who will be back in season 3?
