Next up on the list of the best Netflix shows coming in 2023 is Heartstopper. The heartfelt teen series premiered on Netflix on April 22, 2022, and was an instant hit. It only took a month for Netflix to come to a decision on the show’s fate. In May 2022, Heartstopper was renewed for a second and third season. Unfortunately, we do not have a release date for Heartstopper season 2. However, it’s expected to be released in 2023. It’ll likely be a while before we hear anything concerning the third season.

Based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman, comes a story centering around two teen boys who quickly form a friendship that ultimately blossoms into something much more. Although the show revolves around the two teen boys, there are also side stories involving their friend group.

Production on Heartstopper season 2 started on Sept. 23, 2022, and wrapped on Dec. 2. The episodes are currently being edited in post-production.

The first season spent 10 months in post-production before landing on Netflix. We’re hoping post-production on season 2 can be shortened to about six to eight months which would put the release date sometime in the spring or summer of 2023. But if it spends 10 months in post-production like the first season, we won’t be seeing the second season until fall 2023.
