07/14/23 Update: The official release date for Sex Education season 4 has been announced. Also, the upcoming fourth season has been revealed to be the final season of the teen series. The fourth and final season will drop on Netflix on Sept. 21, 2023.

We were greatly saddened to find out that we would be missing a new season of Sex Education in 2022. Since the first season’s premiere in 2019, we’ve seen a new season every year. But due to production on the fourth season kicking off so late in the year in 2022, there wasn’t enough time for production and post-production to make a 2022 release. So, Sex Education season 4 is expected to come out in 2023.

Our best guess on when the fourth season could arrive on Netflix is summer or fall 2023. Production wrapped in early February 2023, so the new episodes are now being edited in post-production. Post-production will most probably take about six months to eight months and then the episodes should be ready for viewing.

The third season ended on a shocking note with Moordale Secondary School being sold, Maeve leaving for the United States, and Jean’s surprising paternity results. There are so many unanswered questions that will most likely be answered in Sex Education season 4. It’s going to be interesting to see what will happen in the fourth season.
