Shadow and Bone season 2

It’s been over a year since Shadow and Bone premiered on Netflix, and fans of the fantasy series have been patiently waiting on the show’s return. After the show’s premiere in April 2021, it only took two months for Netflix to renew for a second season. Alongside the renewal announcement, the streamer revealed that 55 million households watched the first season in the first four weeks of its release.

We had thought production on Shadow and Bone season 2 would start in the fall of 2021, but that wasn’t the case. Instead, filming didn’t begin until January 2022 and wrapped on June 6.

Sadly, we won’t be seeing Shadow and Bone season 2 by the end of 2022. However, it’s been confirmed for a 2023 release. On Dec. 8, Netflix announced that Shadow and Bone season 2 will come out on March 16, 2023. You can expect eight episodes to drop on your Netflix account on this date.

Season 2 will find Alina Starkov on the run from General Kirigan, so it’ll be interesting to see how everything turns out for her!
