Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

02/14/2023 UPDATE: Netflix has confirmed that the period drama will arrive on Netflix on May 4.

I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re all ready to see the Bridgerton prequel series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. But sadly, this is another Netflix title that doesn’t have a release date yet. However, there’s a rumor going around that it will be released on May 4, 2023. But we’ll have to take this release rumor with a grain of salt because the streaming giant has not confirmed this date. We’re still expecting a spring release, though.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is a limited series created by Shonda Rhimes for Netflix. It follows a young Queen Charlotte’s rise to power and prominence and love life with King George. India Amarteifio plays a young Queen Charlotte, while Golda Rosheuvel portrays a much older Queen Charlotte. Adjoa Andoh, Ruth Gemmell, Michelle Fairley, Corey Mylchreest, Arsema Thomas, Sam Clemmett, Freddie Dennis, Richard Cunningham, Tunji Kasimand, and others are also in the cast.

Principal photography on the period drama series wrapped back in August 2022, so it’s been post-production for quite some time now. This leads us to believe that a May 2023 release might actually happen. Of course, we’ll share the official release date once we find out.
