Halloween season is in full swing and there are plenty of terrifying horror movies, specials, and television shows available to watch on streaming and cable at a moment’s notice. But what about content for people who would prefer something less scary and more spooky? Lighthearted, family-friendly fare you might find airing during Freeform’s Halloween schedule.

Netflix has a surprisingly broad range of options with shows like Wednesday and movies like The Curse of Bridge Hollow, in addition to many acquisitions such as Scooby-Doo!, Goosebumps, Casper, and more.

A new series perfect for younger audiences is coming this week, too, called I Woke Up a Vampire. Everything on the following list (for the most part) is rated TV-PG or lower, so you can rest assured it’ll be compatible for viewers of all ages!

I Woke Up a Vampire

This quirky new teen show looks like something straight off the Disney Channel, in the best way. I Woke Up a Vampire is a collaboration between Netflix and Canadian company WildBrain Television. Carmie Henley wakes up on her 13th birthday to discover she’s grown fangs! With the help of her best friend Kev, Camille finds out she is a Vampling, a vampire-human hybrid with powers like super-speed, enhanced strength, and maybe even flight. All episodes start streaming on Tuesday, October 17.

Nightbooks

Krysten Ritter stars as a glittery evil witch named Natacha in this dark fantasy film. Natacha has kidnapped two children, Alex and Yasmin. Every night Natacha demands the kids tell her a frightening story or face dire consequences. Nightbooks might be a little too frightening for young viewers, but it’s a great starter scary movie for curious youngsters.
