What is Long Shot starring Seth Rogen about?

2019 romantic comedy Long Shot starring Seth Rogen may not have done too well in the box office upon its release, but perhaps you Netflix viewers will like it when it begins streaming on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023. After all, there’s many productions that gain a new life and popularity after being added to the streaming service.

The film is centered around “gifted and free-spirited journalist” Fred Flarsky (Rogen), per the synopsis. While he’s a talented journalist, it seems like trouble always seems to find him. Charlotte Field is the U.S. Secretary of State and is running for president and “impulsively” hires him as her speechwriter after the two run into each other. Who stars in Long Shot?

As mentioned above, Long Shot stars Seth Rogen as Fred. He started out as a stand-up comedian, so it’s no surprise that most of his work has been comedy movies. Some of them are Knocked Up, Funny People, and Neighbors. But that’s not all the actor is talented in. He can take on dramatic roles as well. He proved that in his roles as Steve Wozniak in Steve Jobs and Bennie Loewy in The Fabelmans. His most recent films are The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Dumb Money.

Charlize Theron takes on the role of strong and determined presidential candidate Charlotte Field. The South African actress became known in the U.S. following her roles in The Devil’s Advocate and The Cider House Rules. You may recognize her as Lorraine Broughton in Atomic Blonde, Cipher in the Fast & Furious movies, and her portrayal of Megyn Kelly in Bombshell. The talent is one of the world’s highest-paid actresses and has been awarded an Oscar for her role as Aileen “Lee” Wuornos in the 2003 biographical crime drama film Monster.

Rounding out the cast are O’Shea Jackson Jr. as Lance; Andy Serkis as Parker Wembley; June Diane Raphael as Maggie Millikin; Bob Odenkirk as President Chambers; Alexander Skarsgård as James Steward; Ravi Patel as Tom; Randall Park as Fred’s’s boss; and Lisa Kudrow as Katherine.
