Check out some great Netflix shows to watch this weekend

The Fall of the House of Usher

WATCH! The latest series by horror mastermind Mike Flanagan, The Fall of the House of Usher, has recently been released. This time, Flanagan uses a short story by another horror icon Edgar Allen Poe for inspiration. The Usher siblings have created a powerful and wealthy empire, but the past comes back to haunt them. A mysterious woman from the Usher siblings’ past begins killing off members of their family. Don’t miss this one.

Two Sentence Horror Stories

SKIP! Two Sentence Horror Stories is an anthology horror based on online fan fiction. Each episode is a 20-minute horror story that introduces new characters in a new and frightening situation. While the concept is intriguing, the majority of viewers have stated it is poorly executed.

Slasher

WATCH! The first three seasons of the horror series Slasher are on Netflix. Each season features a masked killer whose motive for killing is unknown. This is one horror anthology that does justice to the unique story told in each season. The stories are mysterious and compelling while still being able to give viewers a shock.

Bloodride

SKIP!  The Norwegian horror Bloodride is another anthology, but this time, as riders on a bus driving through the rain in the middle of the night arrive at their stop, they become the story’s focus. The short episodes don’t give viewers enough time to become invested in the character. There are plenty of other more exciting horror to view on Netflix. Skip this one.

Cabinet of Curiosities

WATCH! The Emmy-nominated Cabinet of Curiosities from the brilliant mind of Guillermo del Toro is a must-watch this horror season. Del Toro brings eight modern tales of terror to your screen in the tradition of Gothic and Grand Guignol genres. Each episode is unique, as the directors were given creative freedom to make the stories their own.

Have a great weekend, and check out all the fantastic Netflix shows!
