Pact of Silence renewal status: Is the Netflix series renewed for season 2?

Netflix has been constantly beefing up its international library, and this time around, the streamer has added a new Mexican drama series called Pact of Silence. It’s one of the most streamed shows on Netflix at the moment, and tons of people are wondering about a second season.

Pact of Silence is a telenovela following the life of a young, big-time social media influencer named Brenda Rey. When Brenda was a baby, she was abandoned and left in a rundown building by her mom and several other women. This caused her to have a difficult childhood growing up, but as she got older, she was able to pull herself out of poverty and make a name for herself.

Now, she wants answers and revenge. So, she infiltrates the lives of four women who she believes were involved in her mysterious birth to exact revenge and find out why she was abandoned in the first place.

Unstoppable star Camila Valero plays the protagonist, Brenda, while the rest of the cast is made up of Kika Edgar, Adriana Louvier, Marimar Vega, Litzy, and others.

Has Pact of Silence been renewed for season 2?

As of Oct. 12, the Mexican drama series has not been renewed for a second season by Netflix. However, this shouldn’t be surprising because the first season just recently came out. Netflix doesn’t usually renew/cancel its new shows so soon after they’re released.

The streamer typically waits to see how it fares in a specific time frame before coming to a decision. If Netflix tallies up the total viewing hours, and they’re high enough to its standards, the streamer might go ahead and give the green light for another season.

However, if you were asking our opinion on whether the show could come back, we’d say it’s not likely. The first season ends with Brenda discovering who her mom and dad are and that she has siblings. She no longer holds a grudge against her biological mom or the women who were involved in her mysterious birth. In other words, the first season wraps up nicely with no loose ends. So, there wouldn’t really be a need for a Pact of Silence season 2.

But if Netflix decided to give the show another go, the show’s writers could always come up with new material. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
