Where to watch The Burial starring Jamie Foxx

As it’s not a Netflix Original, that means you’ll need to turn to another streaming service to watch the legal drama. The Burial begins streaming Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 on Prime Video. A subscription to the service is already a part of your Amazon Prime account if you are a member. Otherwise, you can get the streamer alone for $8.99/month. The film first premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Loosely based on a true story, the movie takes place in 1995 and is centered around personal injury lawyer Willie E. Gary (Foxx) and funeral home owner Jeremiah O’Keefe (Jones). Jeremiah needs a lawyer’s help to sue a large funeral home company over a contract dispute, per the synopsis. The production is inspired by a 1999 New Yorker article of the same name by Jonathan Harr.

Willie is clearly charismatic and seems to be confident he can win, as the trailer shows. The story focuses on themes of corruption have and the determination a small business owner has to take on the big guys. I’m definitely adding this to my watch-list! Are you?
