Netflix is adding 18 new movies and shows this week (Oct. 8, 2023)

A new week is here and as they do every week, Netflix is adding quite a few new movies and shows to their lineup this week. The new additions include a new Mike Flanagan series, a new docu-series, and a new horror movie.

First up is The Fall of the House of Usher! Mike Flanagan’s take on the Edgar Allan Poe story hits Netflix on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023. The story follows two siblings as they try to secure their fortune by building a dynasty. Unfortunately, all that begins to crumble when the heirs to the family start dying one by one.

The series stars Carla Gugino, Mark Hamill, Bruce Greenwood, Ruth Codd, Mary McDonnell, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Samantha Slotan, T’Nia Miller, and Zack Gilford.

The newest docu-series coming to Netflix is Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul. It’s coming to the streaming service on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The series tells the story of the epic rise of the startup electronic cigarette company that became a multibillion-dollar industry. But when teen addiction and lung disease become more prevalent due to their product, they just as quickly crash and burn.

The Conference is also headed to Netflix this week. The horror movie is coming to Netflix on Friday, Oct. 13, and tells the story of a group of public sector employees who go on a work retreat. Little do they know that there is corruption within the company and that they are in the crosshairs of a serial killer.
