The Fall of the House of Usher

The Fall of the House of Usher is the latest offering from horror mastermind Mike Flanagan and likely his last project at Netflix since he has signed a new deal with Amazon. Many acting veterans from his previous projects will return for House of Usher, including Carla Gugino, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, and Samantha Sloyan.

Like The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor, House of Usher is also based on several iconic pieces of literature. This time, Flanagan is tackling Edgar Allan Poe. And while the show is named for his 1839 short story, that’s not the only Poe short story or poem he used as inspiration.

Expect references and easter eggs connected to many of Poe’s most famous works. Flanagan hasn’t yet specified which ones, but closer to the release date so fans can do some prerequisite reading beforehand!

Even though House of Usher hasn’t been released yet, the hype surrounding this series is very real, and it’s undoubtedly one of the most anticipated new shows of the coming fall. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too much longer to see it as the series will start streaming on October 12.
