There’s Someone Inside Your House

Slasher movies comprise some of the most iconic horror movies of all time, but unfortunately, Netflix doesn’t have a great selection available. Movies like the Fear Street trilogy and The Babysitter are among the best offerings available right now, especially after the service removed the excellent Mike Flanagan-directed feature, Hush.

There’s Someone Inside Your House is a slasher, but it’s not a good one. It’s unfortunate because the premise and the book it’s based on by Stephanie Perkins had a lot of potential to be a fun teen scream, but it just falls flat.

On the plus side, There’s Someone Inside Your House does feature a likable, talented cast led by Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists star Sydney Young. Young plays Makani, a high school senior who relocates from Hawaii to a small town in Nebraska to finish her school year and finally graduate.

There’s Someone Inside Your House also boasts some great set pieces, with the corn maze at the end being a standout. The production team grew the corn for the movie themselves, which pays off in the climactic ending.

But not long after Makani arrives in town, a killer starts tormenting her and her friends by exposing their darkest secrets and leaving behind a bloody trail of bodies. Makani must work quickly to find the killer before she becomes their next victim.
