Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

This Halloween season if you’re looking for a dark but fun show, then Chilling Adventures of Sabrina might fit the bill.

The supernatural horror was created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also developed the Archieverse series Riverdale. Sabrina is also based on an Archie comic book series of the same name, with both shows existing in the same universe.

The Netflix series ran for two seasons, each split into two parts. After years of fans pleading for a crossover, it finally happened on Riverdale‘s sixth season. Luckily, season 6 is streaming on Netflix! So if you want to see Sabrina pay the town of Riverdale a visit, be sure to check out episodes 4 and 19 from the season.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is set in the fictional town of Greendale and centers around Sabrina Spellman. She must reconcile her two selves as she’s a half-witch, half-human while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the town itself. Plus she’s trying to be a normal high school student.

The show stars Kiernan Shipka as the titular character, Miranda Otto as  Zelda Spellman, Lucy Davis as Hilda Spellman, Chance Perdomo as Ambrose Spellman, Gavin Leatherwood as Nicholas “Nick” Scratch, Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle, Richard Coyle as Father Faustus Blackwood, Michelle Gomez as  Mary Wardwell, Tati Gabrielle as Prudence Blackwood, Jaz Sinclair as Rosalind “Roz” Walker, and Lachlan Watson as Theodore “Theo” Putnam.

So why is this series on our list? I’ll be honest, the show lost me a bit with its ending. It’s still worth checking it out this spooky season if you never gave the series a shot, but it kind of falls off toward the latter seasons. It’s not an absolute must-watch. It’s fun, but don’t feel too guilty if you don’t have time to get to it this year.

VERDICT: Skip
