We’re still having a hard time saying goodbye to Sex Education, but of course, our favorite streamer knows just what we need to lift up our spirits: a new teen series to fall in love with. Everything Now arrives on Netflix on Oct. 5, and after watching the exciting official trailer, we can already tell that this new show is worth a watch.

While the plot will surely pull you in, you’ll be sold right away when you find out who’s leading the cast. It’s an up-and-coming actress that everyone’s got their eyes on at the moment, and we can’t wait to see the audience response after everyone watches her in Everything Now.

Everything Now plot

The teen series follows Mia, a 16-year-old girl from London who after a long stay at the hospital due to a lengthy recovery from an eating disorder, rejoins the real yet chaotic world of sixth form at the Westmere School. But once Mia arrives at the school, she quickly realizes that her friends have moved on without her. Now, she’s set on making up for lost time and rebuilding her life. So, she makes a bucket list and instantly throws herself into the crazy world of dating, parties, and first kisses. But Mia will soon realize that not everything in life can be planned for.

Rising Australian actress Sophie Wilde stars as the protagonist, Mia Polanco. She’s from Sydney, Australia, and was born on July 5, 1997, making her 26 years old as of October 2023. She’s best known for her breakout role as Mia in the box-office hit Talk to Me. She also had roles in the TV shows Eden, You Don’t Know Me and Tom Jones. Lastly, you might recognize her from her previous role as Sophie Pettingel in the fantasy film The Portable Door. You can find her on Instagram @sophiewildee.

Ripley Parker wrote and created Everything Now. You might recognize Parker as the daughter of Emmy Award-winning actress Thandiwe Newton and English director Ol Parker who is known for writing and directing the musical film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
