The Great British Baking Collection 11 premiere, schedule, and everything we know so far

The Great British Baking Show, better known across the pond as The Great British Bake Off, made its grand return to Netflix on September 29, 2023, with its first episode titled: “Cake Week”. Baking enthusiasts and loyal fans have eagerly awaited the arrival of brand-new episodes of this phenomenally delightful baking series, and the wait is finally over!

For those unfamiliar with this iconic and heartwarming competition show, The Great British Baking Show brings together amateur bakers from across the United Kingdom to compete in a series of culinary challenges that test their skills in creating everything from delicious bread and comforting puddings to intricate and awe-inspiring cakes.

In Collection 11, the familiar faces of Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, and Noel Fielding return to the iconic white tent, ready to provide their expert guidance and witty banter. However, this season promises a fresh twist with the addition of a new face that’s sure to add an extra dash of charm and humor to the mix; beloved British TV personality and morning talk show host, Alison Hammond!

This might seem a little confusing, but The Great British Baking Collection 11 and The Great British Bake Off season 14 are essentially the same thing, but seasons 1 through 3 are not on Netflix, so the numbering is slightly off.

The only difference between the two (besides the name), is that season 14 of Bake Off airs on Tuesdays in the UK, and it then later hits Netflix in the U.S. on Fridays as Collection 11 of The Great British Baking Show.

As mentioned new episodes of the latest season will initially be released in the UK on Tuesdays before landing on Netflix U.S. The new episodes will be available on Netflix from midnight Pacific time (3 a.m. Eastern time). The full release schedule is as follows:

This year’s competition promises to be as fierce and entertaining as ever, as 12 new amateur bakers step into the baking arena, and face a series of mouthwatering challenges that will push their skills to the limit. These new bakers are:

• Abbi: Vegetable farmer and delivery driver who blends homegrown ingredients into her traditional English bakes.
• Amos: Deli and grocery manager who adds bright colors and unique flavors to his baking, inspired by his mom.
• Cristy: Physician’s assistant with Israeli and Jamaican heritage, known for enchanting and nostalgic birthday cakes.
• Dan: Civil engineering resource planner with a South American baking influence, specializing in challenging pies and puddings.
• Dana: Database administrator with a passion for minimalist decoration in her rustic Indian-inspired bakes.
• Josh: Postdoctoral research associate and rugby player who experiments with unique flavors and farm-fresh ingredients.
• Keith: Accountant revisiting 1970s recipes from his childhood, especially traditional Maltese dishes and bread making.
• Matty: Science and phys ed teacher who studies patisserie-making online and favors chocolate, citrus, and nut-infused bakes.
• Nicky: Former flight crew employee turned pet-therapy volunteer, known for nostalgic pastries.
• Rowan: Student who bakes opulent treats and cocktails, inspired by childhood scones and tarts.
• Saku: Intelligence analyst infusing Sri Lankan flavors, especially curry, into her homemade sweets.
• Tasha: Participation officer with a passion for intricate designs and fearless baking, inspired by childhood memories.
