Ginny & Georgia is one of the most popular Netflix teen dramas on the service. The series has been an international success, gaining millions of viewers across its two seasons, to the point that Netflix even gave it a rare double-renewal, meaning we’ll be getting at least two more seasons of the show in the future!

The series follows Georgia and her daughter Ginny Miller, in addition to their other friends and family members. Georgia has decided to move to a new town in the hopes of putting down roots after a rough few years, but their new home comes with its own challenges.

Brianne Howey as Georgia Miller

Brianne Howey grew up in La Cañada Flintridge, California where she attended Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy before flying across the country to start her education at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she graduated in 2011.

Howey’s landed her first acting role while she was still attending NYU, landing the part of “Stacy” in a season 3 episode of 90210. But her role as Georgia Miller is definitely one of her most notable and she’s earned millions of fans as people can’t get enough of Georgia!

Where have you seen her before?

After 90210, Howey starred in the 2013 horror web series Twisted Tales. Her first breakout role was in Horrible Bosses 2, where she starred alongside Jason Bateman. Fans might also recall her from FOX’s underrated horror show The Exorcist, where she played the sister of a possessed girl.

Later, she also landed a starring role in the other FOX series, The Passage, based on Justin Cronin’s novel of the same name. Other roles you might recognize her from include Dollface, Plus One, Viral, XOXO, I’m Dying Up Here, Scream Queens, and Batwoman.

What’s next? 

Besides returning for Ginny & Georgia season 3 and 4, Howey will also star in the upcoming Jack Black comedy film Dear Santa, about a young boy who accidentally sends his annual letter to Satan instead of Santa.

Antonia Gentry as Ginny

Actress Antonio Gentry was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended the Davidson Fine Arts School in Augusta where she learned just how much she loved performing. Besides acting, Gentry also enjoys singing and playing piano! The 26-year-old is proud of her biracial heritage. Her mother is Black and from Jamaica, while her father is white.

Before enrolling at Emory University, Gentry was very involved in theater and also starred in a few commercials. She later graduated in 2019 and landed one of her first significant television roles in the Netflix series Raising Dion. Ginny & Georgia was her first major acting gig.

Where have you seen her before?

As mentioned above, Ginny & Georgia is Antonia Gentry’s first significant acting role and her first series regular gig. Before that, she mostly did theater and she appeared in a PSA about the dangers of texting and driving.

Since landing the part of Ginny in Netflix’s popular teen drama, she’s appeared on countless talk shows, including Tamron Hall, The Jennifer Hudson Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and more. She was also a presenter at the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

What’s next? 

The actress is supposed to co-star opposite Outer Banks star Madison Bailey in a YA time-traveling slasher from the team behind Freaky for Netflix. Time Cut is reportedly in post-production, but Netflix hasn’t revealed any details regarding a possible release window yet, hopefully in 2024.

Additionally, Gentry will co-star opposite Calam Lynch (Bridgerton) in the romance film The Upside of Falling Down, based on the novel by Rebekah Crane, who co-wrote the script with Kelly Walker.

Diesel La Torraca as Austin Miller

Playing Ginny’s younger brother Austin is 12-year-old Australian-American actor Diesel La Torraca, son of actress Joanne Hunt.

La Torraca might be young, but he’s already very passionate about his acting career and got his start in projects like the 2019 movie Little Monsters starring Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o and the miniseries Lambs of God (for which he was nominated for a Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award).

Where have you seen him before?

Besides Ginny & Georgia, La Torraca is probably most recognizable for his role in NBC’s La Brea as Isaiah, a role that earned him a Young Artist Award nomination. His other projects include The Secrets She Keeps, Sweet Tooth (a short film, not to be confused with the Netflix series), and a voice-acting role for Back to the Outback.

What’s next? 

Next he’ll appear in the film Unsung Hero, which also stars Candace Cameron Bure and Nashville’s Jonathan Jackson. The movie is currently in post-production and slated for a 2024 release.

Felix Mallard as Marcus Baker

Felix Mallard is an Australian actor who portrays Ginny’s on-again-off-again boyfriend Marcus Baker in Ginny & Georgia. Not only does he act, but he also models and he’s a talented musician. The 25-year-old got his start playing Ben Kirk in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, but international fans likely know him best from Ginny & Georgia or Locke & Key.

Where have you seen him before?

Besides his work on Neighbours and playing Ginny’s main love interest, Mallard is probably best known for playing Lucas Caravaggio in Netflix series Locke & Key. He also played Aiden in the NBC series Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Roamer in the 2020 film All the Bright Places.

What’s next?

Mallard was cast as the male lead in the YA film Turtles All the Way Down, based on the John Green novel, but the movie was originally slated to premiere on HBO Max before David Zaslav took over and things started getting shelved.

The newly-dubbed “Max” is less focused on creating original films for streaming, so it’s unclear what is going to happen with this film. The good news is that it hasn’t been written off yet, but it might also never get released. It’s hard to say.

Warner Bros. might opt for a theatrical run or potentially sell it to another streamer. Netflix would be a good home for it as the streamer as they often deal with WB, have worked with Mallard multiple times, and often make teen YA romances based on books.

Sara Waisglass as Maxine “Max” Baker

Sara Waisglass is a Canadian actress who has been acting since she was just seven years old! Her first part was as Jordy Cooper in Overruled, which she starred on for three seasons. Nowadays, she’s the charming, bubbly, and quirky character Max on Ginny & Georgia.

But fans likely know her best from the beloved Canadian series Degrassi: The Next Generation, where she portrayed Frankie Hollingsworth. Funnily enough, Ginny & Georgia features several Degrassi alum, including Raymond Ablack (Joe), Chelsea Clark (Norah), and more.

Ginny & Georgia also marks the second time she’s played part of a pair of twins, as her character on Degrassi also had a twin brother. Throughout her career, she’s been nominated for several awards, including a Vancouver Joey Award and a Young Entertainer Award.

Suze is her most recent project. It’s a comedy-drama film also starring Aaron Ashmore (another Ginny & Georgia alum!) and Michaela Watkins. Cascade is a 2023 thriller released earlier this year in which a group of teens find themselves in peril when they find a crashed drug plane while on a wilderess hike.

What’s next?

The actress will star alongside Jonathan Kite and Thomas Lennon in the upcoming holiday comedy film Needle Little Christmas, which is currently in post-production.

Scott Porter as Mayor Paul Randolph

American actor Scott Porter was born in Omaha, Nebraska and seems to have found his niche in the world of small-town dramas on television. From playing Jason Street in Friday Night Lights to his character George Tucker in Hart of Dixie and now Mayor Paul Randolph on Ginny & Georgia, I’m just surprised Porter never had a starring role in Gilmore Girls!

Before he became an actor, Porter was actually a wide receiver on his high school football team, which he attended in Florida. He is also a singer.

Porter’s most notable roles so far have been in Hart of Dixie, Friday Night Lights, and Ginny & Georgia, but he also has an extensive voice-acting resume in video games and animated projects.

You might have heard him voicing characters in Harley Quinn (Flash), Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series (Peter Quill/Star-Lord), Injustice 2 (Damian Wayne/Robin/Nightwing), God of War Ragnarök (Heimdall), the Marvel’s Avengers game (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Ultimate Spider-Man (Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider), Lego DC Super-Villains (Aquaman), and Spider-Man (Harry Osborn).

What’s next? 

For now, it seems like Porter is just focused on Ginny & Georgia, which is fair since the show did get renewed for at least two more seasons. He also voices Flash in the upcoming Rocksteady video game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which has been delayed several times now and will finally (supposedly) release in February 2024.

Katie Douglas as Abby

Like several of her co-stars, Katie Douglas is a Canadian actress and has appeared in several popular Canadian projects over the years. Douglas plays Abby, one of the members of “MANG” and a friend of Norah, Max, and Ginny, on the show. She got her start doing theater and some commercial work and has been active in the industry since she was around nine.

Throughout her years in the business, Katie has received multiple awards. Her work in the dramatic film The Walk earned her an award at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, the IndieFEST Film Awards, and the Rome International Movie Awards. She also received awards for her performance in the horror short Double Edged and additional nominations for Spooksville, including a Daytime Emmy nod.

Where have you seen her before?

Her role in Ginny & Georgia is one of her biggest to date, but she also previously starred in the CBC police dramedy series Pretty Hard Cases as Jackie Sullivan. Her first series regular role was in Discovery Family’s Spooksville, though that series only ran for one season. She also starred in the 2018 film Every Day.

Some of her most recent roles include starring in the television films Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey and The Girl Who Escaped: The Kara Robinson Story. Douglas has guest-starred in several Canadian shows, like Nurses, Mary Kills People, Burden of Truth, Creeped Out, Flashpoint, Saving Hope, and Alphas.

What’s next? 

Her next movie, This Too Shall Pass, is a coming-of-age drama that is currently in post-production. She’s also set to star in the thriller film Lazareth alongside Ashley Judd. As far as we know, Douglas should also be back for more Ginny & Georgia.

Chelsea Clark as Norah

Born in Toronto, Ontario in Canada, Chelsea Clark is a Canadian actress of Filipino descent (on her mom’s side). She’s an accomplished actress who also has a passion for music, enjoying musical theatre and even performing in popular musicals like Legally Blonde and Aladdin. Chelsea has also performed in operas, such as Carmen.

She landed her first acting role on television while she was attending music school. Her first on-screen job was in the Canadian procedural, Rookie Blue. From there, she went on to star in several commercials and a PSA against sexual violence. She won a Joey Award for her performance in the 2017 short film Blue Heart Emoji.

Though Chelsea Clark and Katie Douglas started out as recurring characters in Ginny & Georgia, they were elevated to series regular status in season 2. Chelsea plays Norah, the “N” in “MANG.”

Before that, she recurred on Kung Fu as Chloe Soong, and other shows like Tokens, Good Witch, Hudson & Rex, and lent her voice to a role in the animated series Life with Luna!.

What’s next? 

With Ginny & Georgia renewed, that’s likely where we’ll see Clark next, but she also a part in the upcoming film Pins & Needles, which is reportedly in post-production.

Raymond Ablack as Joe

Canadian actor Raymond Ablack plays the fan-favorite character Joe, who many fans are hoping will someday end up with Georgia, thanks to their sweet friendship and chemistry. He started acting as a child on stage, his first role nabbing Young Simba in The Lion King. But most people know him as Sav Bhandari in Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Throughout the years, Ablack has been consistently appearing in television shows, including Orphan Black and Ginny & Georgia. He also received multiple awards for his work in the short film Inside the Actors Cult and for his work in the web series Teenagers.

What’s next? 

For now, it doesn’t look like Ablack has any new projects lined up, but we expect him to return for the next two seasons of Ginny & Georgia!
