Three fan-favorite Netflix stars have joined forces for a new romantic comedy. After star Josephine Langford, Outer Banks star Drew Starkey, and Shadow and Bone star Archie Renaux all headline this fall’s exciting new rom-com The Other Zoey.

In The Other Zoey, Langford plays Zoey Miller a super-smart student whose life becomes unexpectedly complicated when her school’s soccer heartthrob Zach MacLaren (Starkey) catches a case of amnesia and mistakes her for his girlfriend, also named Zoey. Things become even more complicated when Zoey also seems to hit it off with Zach’s cousin Miles (Renaux).

Is The Other Zoey based on While You Were Sleeping?

Even though the movie’s plot bears a striking resemblance to the 1995 romantic comedy While You Were Sleeping starring Sandra Bullock, Bill Pullman, and Peter Gallagher, The Other Zoey doesn’t appear to be a direct remake. However, the film’s setup does seem to tip its hat to the class rom-com’s premise with the trope of a love triangle mix up.

Will The Other Zoey be on Netflix?

As of the release of its trailer in September, the movie isn’t currently designated for a release on Netflix. That doesn’t mean that the release plans could change in the future and the movie could find its way onto our watch lists at some point. Keep your fingers crossed!

Where to watch The Other Zoey

The Other Zoey will have a limited release in theaters on Friday, Oct. 20 and will be released on video on demand platforms on Friday, Nov. 10. In territories around the world, such as the UK and Australia, the movie will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video on Oct. 20. Being so, its likely that the movie will eventually be available on Prime Video in the US, too.
