Bridgerton’s Lady Whistledown stars in a new ad for Uber Eats (watch it right here!)

Uber Eats wants to show us that they can deliver anything. Well, almost anything. Apparently one of the company’s specialties is delivering “period romance” with a click of a button. Of course, this is all a fun joke as the ad’s celeb, Nicola Coughlan, a.k.a Lady Whistledown in Netflix’s Bridgerton is the subject of the video!

We all know and love her as Penelope Featherington, who hides under the pseudonym. And everyone in the ton, including Queen Charlotte, are obsessed with her social pamphlets. But the young woman’s secret identity is going to bring her problems in season 3 with her best friend Eloise Bridgerton finding out who she really is.

While we wait for the period drama’s return to Netflix, you can bet we’re following the actors closely! If we can’t obsess over our favorite show, we can at least see what the talents of some of our favorite characters are up to. And the latest Nicola is doing is taking part in an ad. Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan in new Uber Eats ad

The video starts off with the actress order “period romance” on the Uber Eats app, and it’s not Colin Bridgerton who shows up delivered to her door. It’s another handsome gentleman. While the actress is happy when he first arrives, the fact that he’s not equipped with the 21st century is a challenge. And well, there’s a reason for that.

While Uber Eats can’t deliver a period romance to your door, the company and ad is all about promoting that it can deliver women “period relief.” Yup, that kind of period. You know, the monthly visitor. I’ll be honest, it was a twist I didn’t see coming in the minute-long ad. The food ordering and deliver platform really came up with a fun and unique idea here! Unfortunately we don’t have a Bridgerton season 3 release date from Netflix yet. With the writers and actors strikes going on in Hollywood, we’re not 100% clear whether they will affect the premiere date of the new season. The next installment in the series reportedly finished filming in March 2023, but that doesn’t mean everything production needs from the writers and actors has necessarily wrapped.
