Surviving Summer season 3: Will there be another season on Netflix?

Surviving Summer has finally returned with its second season, and fans are speeding their way through the new episodes. But for the people who’ve already finished the entire second season, you’re probably wondering if more episodes will be coming soon in a Surviving Summer season 3. No worries! Surviving Summer is hands down one of the best teen shows on Netflix. Created by Joanna Werner and Josh Mapleston, the teen series follows an impulsive and rebellious teen named Summer Torres, who is sent to live with family friends in a sleepy surf-obsessed town in Australia after being expelled from yet another elite private school in New York. While initially against coming to the town, Summer eventually finds herself falling in love with it, along with the people and surfing.

In Surviving Summer season 2, Summer returns to the small town from New York after being away for a year. Now, she wants to join her old friends in competitive surfing, but it won’t be an easy journey for Summer as she tries to navigate new and old romances, a champion surfing rival, and a mysterious new coach.

Up-and-coming actress Sky Katz returns as Summer Torres. The rest of the season 2 cast includes Kai Lewins, Lilliana Bowrey, Joao Gabriel Marinho, Savannah La Rain, Annabel Wolfe, Josh Macqueen, Olympia Valance, and many others.

Will there be a Surviving Summer season 3?

As of Sept. 15, Netflix has not announced whether there will be a Surviving Summer season 3. However, there’s no cause for concern just yet. Since the second season was just released, it’ll likely be a while before we hear anything about a third season. Netflix doesn’t typically renew a series soon after a new season drops. The streaming giant will most likely wait to see if people are really watching and enjoying the new season before making a decision.

Depending on how the second season fares on Netflix will most likely determine if more episodes will be coming in the future. It took five months from the first season’s release for Netflix to renew the teen series for a second season. This could happen again this time around. If this were to happen, then we wouldn’t be hearing any news about a Surviving Summer season 3 until February 2024. Hopefully, we hear back sooner than that, though.

Based on how the second season ended, this definitely isn’t the end of Summer’s journey. So, there’s more story to tell if there was to be a third season. We just need the green light from Netflix.
