My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 sees Toula and Ian going through a bit of a rut. The couple’s relationship has “lost some of its spark,” and their teenage daughter is being rebellious and having trouble coping with her loving, but smothering Greek family, per the synopsis. When her parents Gus and Maria find out their marriage certificate was never signed by the priest, sort of invalidating their marriage, their current priest agrees to perform a new ceremony since he can’t simply sign the original one.

After 50 years together, the two are going to get remarried and Maria wants the wedding she never had the first time. She goes all out, hiring a wedding planner and all. Plus, of course, the whole family is going to get involved!
