In September, some of the biggest new release movies on Netflix were Adam Sandler’s You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah! and the Spy Kids reboot Spy Kids: Armageddon. However, October features a few more movies that play into the fall season, which typically ushers in some of the bigger movie releases of the year aiming for awards.

We’ll have to see if any of the Netflix movies released in October will land any major nominations, but they sure star names big enough to be in the conversation. In addition to the usual lineup of movies released on Netflix each month, here are some of the highlights among the original movies hitting our watch lists this fall.

Reptile

Release Date: Oct. 6

Benicio Del Toro, Alicia Silverstone, and Justin Timberlake team up for the mystery thriller film Reptile, which centers on a detective looking into the truth of a young real estate agent’s murder. The movie hits theaters in a limited release in September before making its worldwide streaming debut on Netflix on Oct. 6*, when it will surely hit the peak of the top 10.

*UPDATE: Reptile will now be released on Netflix on Sept. 29.

Fair Play

Release Date: Oct. 6

Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor returns to Netflix in the erotic thriller film Fair Play alongside Solo and Cocaine Bear star Alden Ehrenreich. In the midst of a promotion at their workplace, Emily and Luke find themselves shifting their relationship in unexpected ways. The film first opens in limited theaters on Sept. 29 before making its worldwide streaming debut on Netflix on Oct. 6.

Pain Hustlers

Release Date: Oct. 27

Fresh off the successful release of Netflix’s limited series Painkillers, another new title on the streamer centers itself in the pharmaceutical world. Pain Hustlers stars Emily Blunt, Chris Evans, Catherine O’Hara, and Andy Garcia and, like the two previous movies, releases in select theaters one week ahead of its Netflix release date on Oct. 27.
