Is Paige leaving Virgin River? (Did Lexa Doig leave Virgin River?)

Paige has had an interesting journey on Virgin River. Across the show’s first season, Paige played a key role on the show before ultimately leaving town in season 2 to go on the run after killing her abusive husband, Wes.

At the end of season 3, we discover that Paige’s son, Christopher, is taken by Wes’s twin brother, Vince, which leads to her surprise return in season 4. After learning that Vince shot Jack, Paige makes her way back to town in order to offer herself to Vince in exchange for Christopher’s freedom.

Fortunately, she has Preacher in her corner and he’s not about to let her take on Vince alone — even if that was her original plan. In the season 4 finale, Preacher reaches the cabin where Vince is keeping Paige and the two come to blows as he attempts to save Paige.

As season 4 ends, Preacher is able to get the upper hand and knocks Vince out leaving a lot of questions on the minds of fans including what’s to come for Paige now that Vince has been stopped.

With Vince out of the picture and Christopher safe, will Paige finally stick around?

Does Paige leave Virgin River?

Following the events of the Virgin River season 4 finale, Mike shows up to arrest Vince for kidnapping and attempted murder. Vince tries to tell Mike that Preacher and Paige killed his brother, but Mike makes it clear to Preacher after Vince has been taken away that he has no intention of looking into the claims Vince makes. Essentially, it means Paige can finally stop running.

While it would seem that Paige would look to return to life in Virgin River now that Vince no longer poses a threat, she instead decides that she needs a change of scenery as the town no longer feels like home to her. By the end of the season 5 premiere, Paige chooses to leave town to get a fresh start with Christopher in a storyline that was designed to be her exit storyline.

That’s right, after episode 1, Paige does not appear in any additional season 5 episodes with Lexa Doig exiting the show once again.

Given Paige has left town to start fresh, we don’t imagine she’ll be racing back to Virgin River anytime soon so it’s likely we might have seen the last of Paige — at least for the time being. The door has been left open for her to return in the future; however, Paige does not return in season 5 and we don’t expect she’ll be back for the show’s final two episodes either.
