The After the Altar special of Love Is Blind season 4 is out now on Netflix and the final episode features some drama between one of the couples and another member of the pod squad.

By now, fans know that each season of the hit reality show features couples who get engaged that aren’t shown in the actual show. The producers have to pick and choose which couples they want to put in the final edit that makes it to viewers. One of the “lost” couples on Love Is Blind season 4 was Josh Demas and Monica Rodriguez. Monica broke the story of her engagement on Instagram.

Once fans discovered Josh had been engaged, it made them question the timeline of his relationship with Jackie. It’s also a little ironic that Jackie called Marshall out for dating another castmate after her—her friend Kacia—saying he wanted the ring back to propose to Kacia, when Josh essentially did the same thing by moving on from Monica with Jackie.

Things between Josh, Monica, and Jackie come to a head during Love Is Blind: After the Altar season 4. Here’s what you need to know.

Love Is Blind season 4: What happened between Josh and Monica in the pods?

Josh and Monica were one of three couples who got engaged in the pods, but their relationship was cut from the final edit of the show. Even stranger, Netflix’s own site, TUDUM, didn’t report on their engagement despite writing an article about the “lost couples” of Love Is Blind season 4.

So, when Monica later went on her Instagram to post about her engagement, fans were perplexed as to what she was talking about and questioned the veracity of her claims. Well, Love Is Blind: After the Altar season 4 confirms that Monica was telling the truth.

In the final episodes of After the Altar season 4, we get to see footage of Monica and Josh’s engagement and the big reveal. It quickly becomes obvious why the two didn’t work out. Upon meeting, there is obvious awkward tension between the two and Josh cracks odd jokes like telling Monica she looks “thicker than a bowl of oatmeal.” During one of her confessionals, Monica refers to him as a “lunatic.”

Monica’s Instagram post, which you can check out for yourself here, explains her engagement story and her reasoning for breaking things off with Josh shortly after filming wrapped.

You can read the full quote at the link, but here’s the gist of it:

"During the reveal, reality set in and my heart and mind were torn. I wasn’t sure if I had made the right decision or picked the right person. The only thing I did know was that you shouldn’t feel torn on your engagement day. It should be a decision in your life that is made with great confidence and no second thoughts. This is when I realized that this wasn’t gods plan for me. I wasn’t at peace with my decision and ended our engagement shortly after filming."

Nowhere in the caption does Monica mention Josh’s name, but he obviously knew who she was referring to, hence why he was so heated at the meet-up during After the Altar where he called Monica a “clout-chaser.” It seems like there is no love lost between these two.

Are Jackie and Monica from Love Is Blind season 4 still friends?

Jackie and Monica’s friendship ends in a weird place at the end of Love Is Blind: After the Altar season 4. The two have a tense conversation at the restaurant and Jackie ends up walking out, asking to leave the gathering early.

Even though Jackie claims the two were best friends, it seems like that friendship is now over. Jackie has said repeatedly she will stand by her man no matter what, even if he’s in the wrong. So, if Josh doesn’t want anything to do with Monica anymore, it’s hard to believe Jackie would continue the friendship.

Are Jackie and Josh from Love Is Blind season 4 still together?

Despite the way they got together, Jackie and Josh are still together. Many fans didn’t think they would last, but for now, they’re proving everyone wrong. To Jackie’s credit, she and Marshall acted maturely during After the Altar in the way they went about providing closure to their previous engagement. Marshall has also moved on and is now dating someone new.
