It’s called Who is Erin Carter?, and after only one day on the streaming platform, it’s already managed to rank on the streamer’s top 10 TV shows list. As of Aug. 25, it’s sitting at the No. 2 spot, meaning tons of people are streaming it. Who is Erin Carter? is a British Netflix original series created by two-time BAFTA nominee Jack Lothian and produced by Left Bank Pictures, the production company behind Netflix’s The Crown.

It follows a British woman named Erin Carter who relocates with her young daughter from the U.K. to Spain for mysterious reasons. Flash forward five years later, Erin is living the expat dream in Spain as a substitute teacher. But her ordinary, tranquil life soon gets turned upside down when she finds herself caught up in an armed robbery at a supermarket and her mysterious and violent past exposed.

Kurdish-Swedish actress Evin Ahmad stars in the leading role of Erin Carter. You might recognize Ahmad from her previous role as Maggie in Call Mom!. She also had roles in the TV shows 112 Aina, Livet i Mattelandet, Quicksand and The Rain. One of her most recent roles was playing the character Leya in Netflix’s Snabba Cash.

Sean Teale plays the role of Jordi Collantes, Erin’s husband who works as an ER nurse. He has no idea about Erin’s past. Teale is best known for his roles in the TV shows Reign, Skins, Incorporated and The Gifted. He also starred as Dario in the romantic comedy film Rosaline.

Indica Watson portrays Harper, Erin and Jordi’s 10-year-old daughter in Who is Erin Carter?. You might’ve watched Watson in the TV shows The Missing and Sherlock. She also played the role of Little Noosh in Netflix’s A Boy Called Christmas.

The crime thriller is rated TV-MA, meaning it’s meant to be watched by mature audiences only. It was given this maturity rating for strong language and violence. Overall, we wouldn’t recommend watching this show with young kids around.
