Ginny & Georgia is one of Netflix’s most popular series, especially in the US, where the teen drama has become something of a phenomenon. But fans are no strangers to long waits between seasons. They almost had to wait two years for season 2 to come out. Will it be just as long of a wait for Ginny & Georgia season 3?

Unfortunately, the wait could be even longer this time around. Even though fans received the exciting news that Netflix had renewed the series for two more seasons earlier this year, it came around the same time as the start of the WGA strike, and now the actor’s guild SAG-AFTRA is also striking.

Another change going into the new season is happening behind the scenes, as Sarah Glinski will be taking over showrunning duties from previous showrunner Debra J. Fisher. So, how does all of this impact the Ginny & Georgia season 3 release date?

Ginny & Georgia season 3 is not coming to Netflix in 2023. Even if there wasn’t an actors and writers strike happening, season 3 still wouldn’t be out this year since season 2 only came out in January and the show wasn’t officially renewed until May.

The good news is that the changing showrunners shouldn’t impact the show’s release timeframe, but production won’t start on season 3 until the strikes have been resolved. Hopefully, actors and writers will be able to negotiate a fair deal with the AMPTP by the end of the year.

If that happens then we can probably expect writing and filming for Ginny & Georgia season 3 to begin in the first half of 2024.

There is a slight chance the show could return by the end of 2024, especially if the strikes end sooner rather than later. But it seems more likely to expect an early 2025 date, especially since the previous seasons came out within the first two months of their respective release years.
