Wrestlers synopsis (What is Wrestlers on Netflix about?)

Have you ever heard of Ohio Valley Wrestling? The gym is known for producing some of the best and biggest wrestling stars we know today. Those include John Cena, Brock Lesnar, The Miz, Dave Bautista, and Randy Orton. And even though it has a good reputation because of its success, the gym has “since hit hard times,” per the synopsis.

It’s a place full of memories for “acclaimed wrestler” Al Snow. But as the gym continues to struggle financially, he had to sell a majority stake to a group of local businessmen in the area, including Matt Jones, who is “the most popular” radio personality in Kentucky. The new owners have given Al until the summer to try and get the beloved place back on its feet.

The docuseries chronicles Al’s effort to save the “historic gym,” as well as show us a behind-the-scenes look at the world of professional wrestling and all the hard work and challenges that the strong male and female athletes go through for the sport they love.

Wrestlers cast

It’s not 100% clear who exactly will appear in the docuseries to give interviews, other than the one and only Al Snow of course. However, based on the trailer and promotional images, we can also expect to hear from Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg, as well as wrestlers HollyHood Haley J, Mike Walden a.k.a. Ca$h Flo, and The “Good” Reverend Ronnie Roberts.
