Netflix NASCAR docuseries release updates, synopsis, and more

Netflix continues its promise to bring new sports content to its viewers! The latest project to be added to the catalog is a new Netflix NASCAR docuseries. The untitled production joins other sports documentaries like Formula 1: Drive To Survive, Full Swing, Quarterback, and more.

The behind the scenes team includes showrunners Jackie Decker and Tim Mullen, and executive producers Connor Schell, Libby Geist, Aaron Cohen, Tally Hair, Ben Kennedy, Tim Clark, and Matt Summers. Words + Pictures, The North Road Company, and NASCAR Studios co-produce.

Plus, a racer himself, Dale Earnhardt Jr., is also taking on EP duties. He’s won 26 races in the Cup Series and is the son of professional stock car driver Dale Earnhardt. Here’s everything we know about the docuseries ahead of its release!

When is the Netflix NASCAR docuseries coming out?

At this time we don’t have a release date for the Netflix NASCAR docuseries. Though, the streamer did share that it’s set to begin streaming in early 2024. The series has now started filming as well, which is probably why an exact release date hasn’t been set yet.

How many episodes is the Netflix NASCAR docuseries?

There will be a total of five episodes set to be 45-minutes each.

What is the Netflix NASCAR docuseries about?

We don’t have an official synopsis yet, but the streaming giant did share that the show will be tracking the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs and championship race that are set to begin this fall. Drivers are already ready to earn their spot in the playoffs, which begin on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023 at Darlington Raceway. If you want to track the NASCAR Cup Series schedule in the meantime, you can find it on the company’s website.

Per Netflix, the series will give viewers “exclusive access” to drivers and teams, and give NASCAR fans a behind-the-scenes look at some of their favorite personalities on and off the track. The show will also portray the “physical and mental challenges” that come with competing for a championship.

Who will be in the Netflix NASCAR docuseries cast?

Along with the announcement of the series, Netflix didn’t reveal which racing stars will be featured yet. Of course, we will share the official list of NASCAR drivers who will be set to appear in the docuseries as soon as the streaming services announces that information.

Is there a trailer for the Netflix NASCAR docuseries?

Since the series will begin filming throughout the fall of 2023, there isn’t a trailer available to be shared just yet. We’ll make sure to share a teaser or trailer with NASCAR fans as soon as Netflix releases first-looks at the series.
