1. Fear Street Part 3: 1666

The Fear Street movies culminate in their strongest entry with Fear Street Part 3: 1666. History comes full circle as Sarah Fier’s surprising origins are finally revealed in this dark and foreboding tale that takes us back to the beginning of all the horrors plaguing Shadyside and the characters we’ve come to know and love.

Fear Street Part 3 is the darkest and most intense of the three films, though the trilogy’s humor and overall self-referential vibe to other iconic franchises are still very much in place. Watching the two previous movies makes the payoff for this epic conclusion all the more exciting as the film expertly ties up all of the necessary loose ends and, like any good slasher series, leaves us wanting more with a nail-biting stinger at the very end.

The word is that Netflix is developing another Fear Street movie. It’d be great to see some of the actors return, although I’d like to see the next film focus on a new story, location, and characters. The cast appears as different versions of their ancestors in this movie, so it’s fun to see characters that died as early as Fear Street Part 1 return to new roles.
