Will there be a Suits reboot or revival? (the producer hopes so!)

After Netflix released Suits seasons 1-8 on its platform on June 17, the show immediately saw a new surge in popularity. It quickly made its way up the streamer’s top 10 TV shows list and has remained on it since. But this doesn’t really come as a surprise because it was a popular series before landing on Netflix. It has just reached a new and/or broader audience on the streamer. There are also the superfans who just want to rewatch it to see all the best moments. Overall, it’s a great show, and with all this buzz around it, people are wondering if there will be a reboot or revival of some sort.

Honestly, a Suits reboot or revival isn’t a far-fetched idea. Reboots and revivals are popular nowadays. We’ve seen this with iconic shows like That ’70s Show, Full House, Dynasty, Gossip Girl etc. All of these shows have been rebooted or revived into new series. To sum it up, nostalgia sells, and for a show like Suits, there’s no doubt that people would tune in if there were to be a reboot or revival.

Reboots or revivals usually happen years after the original show ends. The legal drama series originally aired on the USA Network from June 2011 to September 2019. There’s been quite some time since the show ended its run. In other words, enough time has passed for a reboot or revival to happen.

But will there be a Suits reboot or revival? Suits producer Gene Klein spoke with TVLine and shared everything he knows about a potential Suits reboot or revival. Check out what he said below!

Will there be a Suits reboot or revival? (Is Suits coming back?)

Based on what Klein told TVLine, a reboot or revival is not currently in the works. However, with this resurgence of the original series, Klein mentioned that he’s “expecting a call at some point.”

Klein continues and says this about the show possibly coming back:

"“But I’m not aware of any serious conversations. It’s just one of those things where, in this day and age, you wouldn’t be surprised if somebody called you someday. But so far, nothing that I’m aware of.”"

He also mentions in the interview that he hopes they could get the entire cast back for it. Since it’s been several years since the show ended, the cast has gone on to do other things. So we can only hope that the show can get everyone back together to film.

Here’s what Klein said about getting the original cast involved for a reboot or revival.

"“As you might remember, it was a complicated dance keeping everybody involved, getting all the actors deals done and keeping them involved through the end of the show. I’d be surprised if we could thread that needle for a reunion, but I’d also be delighted if that happened because [when] you do a show for that long, everybody becomes such a good friend.”"

When asked if Meghan Markle would be in a potential reboot or revival, Klein says, “I would assume that’s just not possible.”

So, Suits is not returning anytime soon, but there’s a possibility of it eventually coming back. Fingers crossed, a reboot or revival is given the green light!
