Castlevania: Nocturne release date, synopsis, trailer, cast, and everything we know

Since Castlevania ended in May 2021, we’ve been itching for an animated title that is just as great as that one. Of course, we’ve encountered many Netflix releases that kept us on the edges of our seats, but nothing could quite outdo the original. Fortunately, we won’t have to worry about having withdrawals much longer, as the highly-anticipated spinoff series is finally almost here.

When will Castlevania: Nocturne release on Netflix?

It looks like Fall 2023 will be a season to remember because this is when Castlevania: Nocturne will release. The animated title will officially release on Netflix on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 3:01 a.m. ET/12:01 a.m. PT.

On this date, fans will get to watch eight episodes of the anime’s first season, each being around 25 minutes long.

What is Castlevania: Nocturne about?

Across the eight episodes, you will learn more about the events that happened years after Sypha Belnades and Trevor Belmont brought down the dark army of vampires, thwarting their plan for human genocide. Their attempts didn’t eradicate vampires, however, so we need yet another Belmont (the last remaining Belmont, at that) to stop their malicious plans.

"France, 1792 – the height of the French Revolution. In a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to ‘eat the sun’ and unleash an army of vampires and nightcreatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance."
