Who is Genevieve in Sweet Magnolias? (character explained)

Sweet Magnolias season 3 dropped on Netflix on July 20, and it quickly rose up the top 10 TV shows list on the streaming platform to the No. 1 spot! Everyone’s watching and talking about the new season, and we’re seeing a lot of questions about it. One question concerns a new character introduced this season. The character’s name is Genevieve, and people want to know what she brings to the romantic drama series in its third installment. Who is she, and what characters does she involve herself with? Spoilers ahead from Sweet Magnolias season 3. 

Gifted actress Nikki Estridge plays the role of Genevieve. She’s introduced in the fifth episode of the third season titled “On This Foundation.” Viewers meet Genevieve when she walks into Z’s place in what looks like to have a good time. She spots a man sitting by himself at the bar and walks up to him. The mystery man ends up being Erik. In their short conversation, she manages to make a lonely and recently single Erik laugh, and they decide to talk more.

But Erik isn’t the only person Genevieve involves herself with in Serenity. She also becomes friendly with the Sweet Magnolias (Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue) and quickly becomes part of the small town’s community.

Who is Genevieve in Sweet Magnolias?

Genevieve is a new resident of Serenity, and one of the first things she does on arrival is find a job. She applies for a position at the Sweet Magnolias’ Corner Spa. During her interview, Genevieve tells Maddie, Dana Sue, and Trotter that her previous job was giving facials on the NASCAR circuit. She continues and explains that when she got divorced, she decided to settle down and begin seeing clients out of her home studio. However, she had become lonely while working by herself and would rather be part of a team. That’s why she decided to apply for a job at Corner Spa.

Maddie, Dana Sue, and Trotter like Genevieve and offer her the job. And of course, with a friendly personality like Genevieve’s, it doesn’t take long for her to bring in more clients to the Corner Spa as well as make more friends within the community. One of the people being Noreen. She helps Noreen in an awkward situation with Bill, and they become close after that. But the person she becomes the closest to is Erik.

After getting the job at the Corner Spa, she runs into Erik at Z’s Place again. They talk about their new jobs, and then Genevieve invites Erik out to eat to celebrate. They continue to see each other and enjoy spending time together. Erik eventually asks Genevieve out on a date, and they begin dating. But we don’t see Genevieve again after the eighth episode. However, she and Erik are believed to still be together throughout the rest of the season.

But it’s unclear if Genevieve and Erik will stay together because Erik and Helen still have some unresolved feelings. At Dana Sue and Ronnie’s vow renewal ceremony, Erik and Helen share a longing stare. Could this mean they’re getting back together in a potential Sweet Magnolias season 4?
