Is Bill (Chris Klein) leaving Sweet Magnolias?

A brand new season of Sweet Magnolias is streaming on Netflix, and we’re seeing many questions about it. One of the main questions we keep seeing circulating on the internet concerns a character’s departure. People want to know if Bill (Chris Klein) is leaving the romantic drama series. No worries! We shared everything we know below.

Spoilers ahead from Sweet Magnolias season 3. 

It doesn’t come as a surprise that people are wondering about Bill possibly leaving Sweet Magnolias. In the third season, no one really wants to talk or involve themselves with Bill besides a new love interest and his kids. Maddie and Noreen can’t get over his constant wrongdoings, and the others are on their side and have pretty much distanced themselves from Bill as well. Also, Bill doesn’t even live in Serenity. He only comes to visit his kids and new fling. We see him pop up in several episodes throughout the third season, but that’s about it.

Then, in the season 3 finale, Bill tells Maddie he’s going out of town “for a bit” with Kathy. Could this be the last we see of Bill in Sweet Magnolias? Will he not return in a potential Sweet Magnolias season 4?

Is Bill (Chris Klein) leaving Sweet Magnolias?

It’s unknown if Chris Klein will be leaving his character in Sweet Magnolias behind after the third season. But as of July 2023, Klein hasn’t announced his exit from the series, nor has Netflix or the creative team behind the show announced Klein’s departure. So Klein could return if there were to be a Sweet Magnolias season 4. Our guess is that if he does return in a fourth season, he’ll be bumped down to a recurring role. But we’ll just have to wait and see.
