The upcoming summer flick Theater Camp starring Ben Platt, Jimmy Tatro, and The Bear actors Molly Gordon and Ayo Edebiri comes out in July 2023. Find out how to see this new original comedy including whether or not it will be available on Netflix when it’s released.

The comedic musical mockumentary was written by Gordon, Platt, Nick Lieberman, and Noah Galvin, who also stars in the film. Among the other actors you might recognize in Theater Camp are Patti Harrison, Nathan Lee Graham, Owen Thiele, Caroline Aaron, Amy Sedaris, Alan Kim, and Luke Islam.

Theater Camp is based on the 2020 short film of the same name. The flick follows the staff of a struggling summer camp after their leader and owner (Harrison) falls into a coma. Her otherwise inept DJ/influencer son (Tatro) is left in charge as another local competing camp tries to take over the once-beloved grounds.

Campers put on classics like The Crucible, Cats, and Damn Yankees each year, but Platt and Gordon’s characters write their own work each summer. This time, they’re putting on a tribute to their former leader. Of course, songs are played, dances are performed, and camp shenanigans ensue!

Is Theater Camp on Netflix?

Theater Camp first premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in January 2023. At publication, the movie will only be available in select theaters for the summer. But that’s not to say you won’t find it on Netflix or another major streaming platform in the future.

In the meantime, there is plenty of other content starring Platt on Netflix. Stream The Politician and Platt’s performance live from Radio City Music Hall on the streaming giant.
