Is Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City on Netflix? (where to stream)
By Diana Nosa
Asteroid City very may well be the movie of the summer. Here’s why you absolutely should watch this 2023 title before this epic movie season is over.
First and foremost, the drama film is directed by none other than Wes Anderson. The same mastermind that brought you Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and The French Dispatch is the creator of this title. It’s because of his outstanding resume that he rounded up some of Hollywood’s most notable faces to join him in his latest film. From Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks to Bryan Cranston and Tilda Swinton, this star-studded cast is all the more reason why seeing this film is imperative.
Above all, we think the story behind this film is all the more reason why this may be the movie of the summer. (If not, the year!)
Read the synopsis of Asteroid City below (via Focus Features):
"The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events."
And since you’re already here, check out the remarkable official trailer of the title.
Now that you know everything there is to know about this film, allow us to tell you all about whether you can stream Asteroid City on Netflix or should head to another site to catch up on all the fun.
Is Asteroid City streaming on Netflix?
As of June 2023, Asteroid City is not streaming on Netflix. While this is due in part because the film is still premiering in theaters all over the nation, it is also because this streaming service doesn’t typically have films produced by Focus Features available to stream.
Hopefully, we can bring you some good news regarding whether Netflix will ever acquire Asteroid City. For now, here’s where the film is likely to head to after its theatrical release.
Where to watch Asteroid City
Shortly after Asteroid City departs from theaters, we expect the 2023 film to head to a site like Amazon Prime Video or Max (formerly known as HBO Max). We predict this largely because many Focus Features films are currently on these sites. (The Northman, The Silent Twins, and Last Night in Soho, to name a few.) Having this in mind, getting a subscription to Max or Amazon Prime Video may serve you very well down the round.
Apart from Amazon Prime Video and Max, Asteroid City may stream on a number of sites, including (but not limited to) Peacock, YouTube Movies, and/or Hulu. We’ll have to wait a little longer to know for sure, though.
While you wait to know more about where Asteroid City will stream, be sure to head to your local movie theater to catch every second of the highly anticipated film.
