Tex Mex Motors season 2: Will there be another season on Netflix?
By Mads Lennon
Car enthusiasts have a new reality television show to obsess over, thanks to Netflix. The streamer’s latest automobile restoration series, Tex Mex Motors, has become an instant hit for Netflix, quickly scoring a spot in the Top 10 TV Show list within just a few days of premiering.
If you’ve zoomed through all eight episodes currently available, you’re probably itching for more. Has Netflix greenlit Tex Mex Motors season 2? Here’s everything we know about a potential second season so far.
Tex Mex Motors follows a group of car experts working out of El Paso, Texas, with a goal of turning a profit of at least $250,000 within four months. They purchase older, classic cars that have been left to rot in junkyards in Mexico, bring them into the US, restore them, and then sell them. It’s more or less your typical makeover reality show, similar to series like Junkyard Empire and Wheeler Dealers.
Is Tex Mex Motors season 2 happening?
As of Wednesday, June 14, Netflix has not decided on the fate of Tex Mex Motors. Since the show just premiered on June 9, that’s not surprising. It can take several weeks, or even months, for Netflix to renew or cancel new series.
But Tex Mex Motors is off to a promising start. With a strong debut that has landed it in the Netflix Top 10 and its cheap cost as an unscripted series, Tex Mex Motors season 2 looks likely. It helps that Netflix doesn’t have many car shows, so that could help this one stand out.
