It might have only been a few months since Manifest season 4 part 1 premiered on Netflix, but it feels like forever since part 1 dropped in November 2022. Luckily, the wait is officially over, so let’s take a look at all the important things that happened in Manifest season 4 part 1 that you need to remember before watching the final 10 episodes of our beloved favorite.

Manifest season 4 part 1 summary

Manifest season 4 part 1 begins with the Stones desperately fighting to keep the lifeboat afloat, two years after the tragic events of Grace’s death and Eden’s abduction in the season 3 finale. Ben remains engulfed in grief, obsessively searching for Eden and leaving the rest of the family to steer the lifeboat as he dedicates his every waking hour to looking for Eden.

At the same time, the aging of Cal, who showed up at the end of season 3 having aged several years making him the same physical age as his twin Olive once again, puts a strain on the family as the ominous Death Date clock continues ticking, increasing the pressure on the 828ers to find the answers they need to save the passengers.

Warning: Major spoilers from Manifest season 4 part 1 ahead!

1. The Death Date isn’t just for the 828 Passengers

Although the passengers of Flight 828 are not spared from the Death Date in the first part of season 4, they come closer than ever to uncovering the answers necessary to save the world. In a surprising revelation, they learn that the Death Date applies not only to the Flight 828 passengers but to the entire world.

2. Ben finds Eden

We learn early in the season that Anna Ross has been harboring Angelina and Eden in her basement. When Anna has a change of heart, Angelina goes on the run and Adrian offers her a hand in providing a place for her a place to hide.

Eagan ends up discovering Angelina’s whereabouts via Adrian and tips the Stones off in a deal designed to help get him released from prison. Despite a foreboding calling, Ben persists and heads to the compound where Eagan said Grace has been hiding with Eden… only to be knocked out and kidnapped upon his arrival.

Michaela, Zeke, and Jared join forces to locate Ben, but it is Cal who ultimately saves the day by following his calling and leading them to Angelina. This allows Ben, Eden, and the compound residents to escape.

3. Olive unearths the Omega Sapphire… and Angelina gets her hand on it (literally)

Olive takes the lead on their search for answers in the episodes and guides them to the discovery of the Omega Sapphire, a powerful tool that could hold the key to saving humanity. Unfortunately, the misuse of the Omega Sapphire by Angelina results in false Callings and widespread pain among all the Flight 828 passengers across the season.

Speaking of our girl Angie, Ben and Michaela eventually confront Angelina at the church in her old school, where Cal’s Calling causes the Omega Sapphire to explode in her hand. The shattered fragments scatter, and as Angelina reaches out to grasp the last remaining piece of the glowing sapphire, it slips from her fingers and falls into the lava of a volcanic fissure. At that moment, the stone somehow crystallizes within her hand and somehow fuses into her hand.

The ramifications of this fusion are left unclear as the season comes to a close but it’s clear that now that Angelina possesses the powers of sapphire things are about to take a turn for the worst. This is evident by the emergence of volcanic fissures within the city as the season comes to a close.

4. The Registry is created to track 828 passengers

At the beginning of part 1, we’re introduced to the Registry which is created and opened in New York City and requires all 828 passengers to check in once per month or face jail time. During their check-ins, the Registry takes their vitals and inquires about Callings in an effort to track them.

The Registry carries out investigations into specific phenomena experienced by the passengers and detains those who violate the law. Surprisingly, we discover that Drea is working for the Registry, but she operates as a covert operative within the organization. Jared also joins the Registry later in the season knowing it will give him the chance to get his detective shield back and join Drea on the inside in helping the 828 passengers.

5. Jared and Drea begin seeing one another

In an unexpected twist, Drea and Jared have begun seeing one another in a casual no-strings-attached type relationship.

6. Angelina’s mom emerges as the 828 Killer

Like mother, like daughter. This phrase took on new meaning in season 4 part 1 when we discovered that Angelina’s mother, Noelle, was responsible for the string of murders that unfold across the season in which 828 passengers are targeted and killed. Noelle’s killing spree claims the lives of several 828 passengers including Sam Wile, Anna Ross, and Violet Wheeler.

7. Zeke makes the ultimate sacrifice

As the season nears its end, Cal’s health begins to take a turn for the worst and it looks like he is not going to make it. Having overheard Olive and TJ discussing the importance of saving Cal, Zeke believes that Cal holds the key to rescuing the passengers and humanity from the impending Death Date. This revelation leads Zeke to make the ultimate sacrifice as he uses his abilities to save Cal by trading his life for Cal’s.

Before saving Cal, Zeke reaches out to Michaela and bids his tearful and heart-wrenching final farewell. Michaela and Ben rush home, and just in time, Michaela returns to witness Zeke’s last moments, as he assures her they will meet again under the stars. She cradles him in her arms as he passes away, while Ben and Olive remain by Cal’s side as he miraculously comes back to life.

Manifest season 4 part 1 ending

After failing to win back Eden using a fake Grace calling, Angelina becomes distraught and takes hostages at her former school, oblivious to the fact that the Omega Sapphire is generating intense volcanic activity, endangering everyone in the vicinity.

In another calling battle between Cal and Angelina, the Omega Sapphire shatters. This exchange weakens Cal even further and it becomes clear that while he might have been able to stop Angelina in that moment, he’s not going to last much longer.

Michaela and Ben work to get the rest of the hostages to safety, Ben goes back to try to stop Angelina. As Ben races in after Angelina, Michaela gets a call from Zeke who says an emotional goodbye to her before he uses his abilities to save Cal’s life while sacrificing his own in the process.

Ben’s efforts to Angelina fail and while we at first think she perishes, she evades death again and ends up with a fragment of the shattered stone embedded in her hand, and the season concludes with ominous volcanic cracks trailing behind her, emphasizing the power she now has thanks to the sapphire.

Finally, while the above is playing out, Saanvi and Vance work to prevent the death date, only to have their research confiscated by the government, who also decide to detain all 828 passengers in a desperate attempt to regain control over the situation.
