XO, Kitty episode 4 recap: TGIF

Seeking retribution for Kitty telling everyone he was the Poopy Baby, Min Ho informs the school about the dorm assignment mixup which results in Kitty getting reassigned to the girls’ dorm.

Unfortunately, her new roommate is a total slob and is not happy to be getting a roommate. Kitty vents her frustrations to Alex, but he’s unable to do anything other than offer her a pep talk. However, it’s quickly becoming clear the two are former a strong connection.

While catching up with Q, he hints sparks are there between him and Florian but he’s not yet made a move to which Kitty suggests inviting him to a watch party to connect outside of class. Returning the favor, Q invites Kitty to join their Outdoor’s Club since Dae will be there Yuri will not… or so he thinks.

When Min Ho catches wind that Kitty will be joining the Outdoor’s Club, he gives Yuri a heads-up so she can crash the event. Speaking of crashing, Min Ho also joins the club which is when we see some one-sided sparks fly from Madison.

What’s meant to be a relaxing hike quickly turns competitive when Kitty challenges Yuri to a race to the top of the hill. After racing to the top, Kitty takes in the view and notices a building in the distance with the logo matching the hospital bracelet and races off to find it.

Upon reaching the hospital, Kitty inquires about where she can get information on a former patient and is informed that all former patient files are sealed. Not one to give up easily, Kitty sneaks into the record room which is when she finds her mom in the hospital records and discovers she has a brother born Aug. 12, 1993, who was adopted by parents in Australia.

Alex comes to Kitty’s rescue and is able to help get her out of trouble at the hospital, which is when he shares that he was adopted. Putting two and two together, Kitty immediately believes Alex might be the son her mom put up for adoption but is unable to ask about his birthday as he rushes her along to beat the rain moving in.

Later, Kitty shares her findings with Q including her theory about Alex being her brother. While catching up, Min Ho shows up and reveals that Kitty’s new roommate has been live-streaming Kitty sleeping which prompts the group to invite her back to their dorm with the plan being for Dae to move into Min Ho’s room and Kitty to bunk with Q.

Odds and Ends

  • Dae’s first day working for Yuri’s dad is a bust as he discovers the internship is more for show than actually giving him experience in the workplace.
  • While Q’s group watch doesn’t quite go to plan, sparks do fly between him and Florian, who tells Q they should connect again but maybe next time just the two of them.
  • Speaking of Florian, we also discover during the group watch party that his parents are getting a divorce which Min Ho is able to sympathize with as his parents divorced when he was younger.
