Julie and the Phantoms was a lighthearted musical comedy-drama series canceled after just one season. Despite only airing for nine episodes, Julie and the Phantoms instantly attracted a passionate and devoted fanbase who are still lobbying hard for the series to get rescued somehow.
Based on the Brazilian series Julie e os Fantasmas, Julie and the Phantoms revolved around Julie Molina, a young girl struggling in the aftermath of losing her mom at a young age. A passionate musician, Julie falls out of love with her hobby and can’t even turn to music to cope with the grief. But then, three charming male ghosts appear to help her get her groove back, and the group decides to start a band.
Filled with charming paranormal adventures, catchy tunes, and a moving emotional core, Julie and the Phantoms became a source of happiness to many fans who felt they could relate to Julie and her struggles. It’s a shame that Netflix canceled this fun little show after just one season when it served as an excellent antidote to challenging times in real life.
