Netflix shows canceled: Jupiter’s Legacy

With Netflix losing all of its Marvel content HBO having dibs on DC, it made sense that the streamer wanted to establish its own superhero universe, which was meant to launch with Jupiter’s Legacy. This superhero drama was based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely from Image comics. Starring Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb, Ben Daniels, Matt Lanter, and several other stars, the show had a big price tag and was intended to launch a universe.

Interestingly, Netflix is still moving ahead with some of the projects connected to it like two spin-offs revolving around the Super Crooks. One is an anime series and the other is a separate, live-action adaptation. Since Netflix still seems at least partially invested in making this work, perhaps they will revisit Jupiter’s Legacy down the line depending on how the spin-offs perform.

Jupiter’s Legacy felt like one of those shows that could have evolved if it had another season, especially since it suffered from some of the same problems faced by The Umbrella Academy, which dramatically improved in its sophomore outing.
