Fans of Smith probably know that she had two children, Daniel Wayne Smith and Dannielynn Birkhead. Daniel tragically passed away in 2006 from an accidental overdose, just a few days after Dannielynn was born.

Dannielynn Birkhead was born in The Bahamas on September 7, 2006, and is 17 years old today. She remains very close to her father, Larry Birkhead, and the two attend the Kentucky Derby annually in honor of the place where her father and mother first met.

They recently attended the 34th annual Barnstable Brown Kentucky Derby Eve Gala together, and the teen paid tribute to her mother with an outfit displaying photos from Anna Nicole Smith’s famous Guess campaign. She also wore some of her jewelry to complement her ensemble.

E! News reports that Dannielynn is happily living a normal life in Louisville, Kentucky. Larry is cautious about how often he takes his daughter to significant public events and typically limits their press outings to the yearly gala.

While speaking with People, Birkhead revealed he had saved many of Smith’s clothes for her daughter.

“There’s some T-shirts and different things she fits in, but there’s also some things that she’ll say, ‘Dad, no thanks, that’s not my style.’ There’s also some things that would have to wait till later. Some things are a bit more revealing and low-cut.”

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Birkhead also pointed out the striking similarities between mother and daughter, writing, “Your love is alive still to this day, in the form of a truly one of a kind teenager with her Mom’s smile, beauty and courage.”
