Just months after their excellent documentary feature Pamela, A Love Story, which allowed the notable model and actress to reclaim her story in a moving media piece, Netflix is releasing another doc on a different iconic blond bombshell, Anna Nicole Smith.
Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me is the streamer’s latest documentary outing. The new film aims to tell the story of the “real” Anna Nicole Smith via some never-before-seen archival footage and interviews with friends and family members of the late model.
During the documentary, we learn more about Smith’s various relationships and marriages, namely her infamous marriage to billionaire J. Howard Marshall II and the financial fallout took the courtroom after he passed.
Anna Nicole Smith married Billy Smith when she was 17
Smith met her first husband, Billy Smith when she was 17 and working at Jim’s Krispy Fried Chicken in Mexia, Texas. Billy was 16 at the time. The two married in 1985 and divorced in 1993. Billy was the father of Smith’s first son, Daniel Wayne Smith.
Anna Nicole Smith later married J. Howard Marshall
The Playboy Playmate met her second husband in 1991, while she was working at a strip club in Houston, Texas. Billionaire oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II was 86 when he and Smith met, while she was only 26. Smith was Marshall’s third wife.
Their marriage catapulted Smith into the public eye as tabloids heavily scrutinized it at the time. They got married in 1994, and Marshall died in 1995.
Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K. Stern had a commitment ceremony in 2006
After Marshall died, Smith did not remarry, but she and her lawyer/companion Howard K. Stern held an informal commitment ceremony in 2006 in The Bahamas. The marriage was never legally binding because no marriage certificate was ever issued. Smith later passed away on February 8, 2007.
