If you couldn’t get enough of The Night Agent this spring, Netflix has a new title coming your way with multiple seasons ready to binge-watch. The popular CBS procedural action drama SWAT begins streaming on Netflix in May 2023, just in time for new fans to enjoy before the final season.

Netflix’s original series The Night Agent and the hit procedural SWAT have creator Shawn Ryan in common, and it’s clear that he can craft a compelling series viewers simply can’t stop watching. It’s why when CBS canceled SWAT after six seasons and fan outcry was swift, the network promptly course corrected and renewed the series for a seventh and final season.

On the heels of the bittersweet but good final season news, the series makes its way to Netflix, where it will surely climb right into the higher rungs of the streamer’s daily top 10 ranking. Shemar Moore stars in the series about the Los Angeles Police Department’s SWAT unit.

When is SWAT coming to Netflix?

On Wednesday, May 17, Netflix will release SWAT seasons 1-5. The first five seasons will hit our watch lists just ahead of the sixth season’s May 19 finale on CBS. According to Deadline, season 6 is expected to join seasons 1-5 on Netflix later this fall.

SWAT seasons 1-5, which encompasses 106 episodes, will begin streaming on Netflix at 12 a.m. PT and 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, May 17. For more information on release times around the world, check out our guide to when Netflix releases new titles based on time zone.

As explained by Deadline, Netflix and Sony (the studio behind the CBS series) were negotiating a streaming deal at the same time that The Night Agent popped off on the streamer in a big way. Current seasons of the series will continue to stream on Paramount+, while a limited number of seasons are still on Hulu as of May 2023.
