Queer Eye is one of Netflix’s most wholesome original series. So much so that if the streaming service renewed the series for several more seasons, we wouldn’t complain one bit.

Tons of Netflix subscribers feel a similar sentiment toward Queer Eye, as they also hope this show will run on for quite some time. After all, the show is top-rated, appeals to all audiences, and can consistently find its place in a Netflix calendar no matter what. But will this show come to an end after seven amazing seasons? Or can we expect an eighth season in the future? And if so, when?

Here is everything we know so far about Queer Eye season 8!

Is Queer Eye renewed for season 8?

Yes! Although there was never an official renewal announcement by Netflix, the streamer revealed the good news in November 2023 when announcing one of the main cast members’ exit from the series.

We’re actually surprised that Netflix didn’t announce the show’s renewal sooner. However, Queer Eye is definitely one of the top reality shows on the platform, so we had no doubts that it would be returning with a brand new season.

Queer Eye season 8 is coming to Netflix in early 2024

Get ready because the highly anticipated eighth season is set to arrive on Netflix on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024. In the past, we’ve seen two new seasons be released in the same year, but it looks like the streamer decided to switch things up this time around. Season 7 was released in May 2023, and season 8 will be released in January 2024.

It’s unclear how many episodes will be in the eighth season, but our guess is that we’re probably looking at a total episode count between seven episodes and 10 episodes. The previous season had seven episodes, so Netflix might decide to follow suit for season 8. We’ll let you know the official episode count once it becomes public knowledge.

Where does Queer Eye season 8 take place?

Queer Eye season 8 takes place once again in New Orleans, Louisiana.

So far, Queer Eye has visited the following places:

  • Season 1 (2018) – Georgia, United States
  • Season 2 (2018) – Georgia, United States
  • 2018 Special – Yass, New South Wales
  • Season 3 (2019) – Kansas + Missouri, United States
  • Season 4 (2019) – Illinois + Kansas, Missouri, United States
  • 2019 Special – Tokyo, Japan
  • Season 5 (2020) – New Jersey + Pennsylvania, United States
  • 2021 Special – Pennsylvania, United States
  • Season 6 (2021) – Texas, United States

Queer Eye season 7 was located in New Orleans, Louisiana, making a good deal of the South, Midwest, and East Coast of the United States covered. All this to say, a trip to the West Coast of America is long overdue. Perhaps Los Angeles, California, will be the main spot for a future season. Or maybe Seattle, Washington, needs a visit from our Fab Five. Either way, the possibilities are endless, and we can’t wait to see where we go next!

Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, and Jonathan Van Ness, which all make up the Fab Five, are confirmed to return for the eighth season.

Queer Eye is officially renewed for a ninth season

Yes, you read that right! According to Variety, the popular reality series will not be ending with its upcoming eighth season. There will be a Queer Eye season 9, which will be based in Las Vegas, Nevada. So, you haven’t seen the last of the Fab Five. Well, there’s one member of the Fab Five who will not be coming back for the ninth season. It’s Bobby Berk. While he will be in Queer Eye season 8, he will not return for season 9.

Berk shared the sad news via an emotional post on his Instagram.

"“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that season 8 will be my final season on Queer Eye. It’s not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one. Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon.”"

Once the official trailer for Queer Eye season 8 drops, we’ll be sure to share it with you right away. Until then, head to Netflix to stream every season, including the latest seventh season!
