When will Bridgerton season 3 be released on Netflix? That’s the burning question everyone wants the answer to, and Netflix still has yet to announce the release date. So does this mean the highly anticipated third season won’t be coming this year? We shared everything we know about Bridgerton season 3’s release below.

Bridgerton is arguably the best period drama series streaming on Netflix. Based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling Bridgerton book series, comes a show centering around the powerful Bridgerton family as they search for love and happiness in Regency London high society.

The first season was a hit with audiences everywhere in 2020, and then the second season came out in 2022 and surpassed the first season’s viewership numbers. So we can only imagine how Bridgerton season 3 will fare when it drops.

It’s been over a year since the second season premiered, so it’s about time for a new season to come out. But what’s taking so long? When will we get to see Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington’s love story unfold? As we mentioned earlier, a release date hasn’t been revealed yet, but we have an idea of when the new season could arrive.

Is Bridgerton season 3 filming?

Fortunately, the cast and crew have already wrapped filming. Production reportedly started in July 2022 and wrapped in March 2023. As of May 2023, the new episodes have been in post-production for about two months. It’s unknown how long it will take for the episodes to be edited, but we could be looking at at least six months of post-production. Once post-production finishes, the brand-new season will make its way to Netflix.

Will Bridgerton season 3 be affected by the writers’ strike?

While production has stalled on many shows due to the writers’ strike, Bridgerton season 3 doesn’t have to worry about this because production already wrapped. However, it’s unclear if post-production will be affected. Netflix nor the creative team behind Bridgerton has spoken out about post-production being put on hold, so for now, our guess is that things will continue as they were. If something changes, we’ll let you know.

Is Bridgerton season 3 coming in 2023?

Although a 2023 release hasn’t been confirmed, the third season is expected to come out by the end of 2023. Post-production didn’t take long at all for the second season. It took about four months, and then the second season landed on Netflix. While this could happen for season 3, we doubt it will. This would put the release in the summer.

Initially, a summer release was possible, but then Netflix decided to release Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story in May. We highly doubt that Netflix will want to drop Bridgerton season 3 so soon after the release of the prequel. The streaming giant would want to space out the releases.

So, we’re most likely looking at a fall or winter release. Who knows, Netflix might hand out another Christmas Day release like the first season. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Could Bridgerton season 3 arrive on Netflix in 2024?

It’s possible, but we don’t think this will happen. The only way this could happen is if post-production is delayed for a good period of time. Then, the release would be pushed into the following year. However, we don’t see this happening. So, for now, expect the third season to come out by the end of 2023.
