This weekend, a new PG sci-fi movie titled Crater starring Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Mckenna Grace, and more is being released! Crater stars Russell-Baily as Caleb Channing, a teen raised in a lunar mining colony. After his father dies, Caleb will be relocated to another planet, but before he leaves, he decides to embark on one final journey alongside his friends to explore a crater on the moon.

Caleb and his friends, Dylan, Borney, and Marcus, alongside a recent Earth transplant named Addison (Grace), hijack a lunar rover to investigate the mysterious crater for one last hurrah, and what they find might just change everything.

Grace has already started receiving significant praise for her performance in the film, which has received mixed reviews overall. But it looks like an easy watch, perfect for those seeking young adult fare this weekend. Here’s how you can watch it.

Is Crater going to be on Netflix?

Sadly for fans of sci-fi and Mckenna Grace, you cannot watch Crater on Netflix because it’s a Disney+ Original movie. Netflix carries some of Mckenna Grace’s other projects, but unlike Crater, they’re not family-friendly.

Grace stars in the acclaimed horror anthology series The Haunting of Hill House. Those interested in sci-fi projects with a similar plot might enjoy Netflix series like Lost in Space, Another Life, or Away.

Where to watch Crater this weekend

As mentioned above, Crater is a Disney+ exclusive, so the only place you can watch the new movie is on the Disney+ platform. You will need a subscription to watch. There are a couple of options for those who need to subscribe to the platform.

You can get Disney+ Basic (with ads) for $7.99/month or Disney+ Premium (no ads) for $10.99/month. Disney also offers bundles with Hulu and ESPN+ for those interested in signing up for additional services.

Crater begins streaming on Friday, May 12. The film is 1 hour 45 minutes and rated PG for thematic material, action/peril, and language.
