The Mother starring J.Lo synopsis: What is the movie about?

In 2022, Jennifer Lopez gave us fans three great productions: romantic comedies Marry Me and Shotgun Wedding, and her very own Netflix documentary Jennifer Lopez: Halftime. The actress hasn’t done an action movie in a long time, but that’s about to change. We’ll be able to see her in the genre in her newest film, The Mother, on May 10, 2023!

Lopez takes on the titular role of course! Joining the star in the movie are, Lucy Paez as the Daughter Zoe, Joseph Fiennes as Adrian, Omari Hardwick as Cruise, Gael García Bernal as Hector, and Paul Raci as Jons. Niki Caro takes charge behind the scenes as director, with Misha Green and Andrea Berloff having penned the script.

What is The Mother starring Jennifer Lopez about?

The Mother is centered around Lopez’s character, who at this time is just known as, well, the Mother. She’s a deadly assassin who has to come out of hiding to protect the daughter, Zoe, she gave up years ago. The two will go on an action-filled adventure together as they run away from “dangerous men,” per the synopsis.

The trailer reveals why J.Lo’s character gave up her daughter, the fact that the “dangerous men” kidnap Zoe to get to our main character as they’re seeking revenge, and how the duo go on the run of sorts while working together to stay alive.
