A Man Called Otto is a comedy-drama film directed by German-Swiss filmmaker Marc Forster. David Magee, best known for writing the screenplays for Life of PiMary Poppins Returns and The School for Good and Evil, wrote the script for this film. Additionally, it’s a movie adaptation of the 2012 best-selling novel A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman.

It stars Emmy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks as Otto Anderson, a grumpy man who has lost the will to live after the death of his wife. But when a young family moves in nearby, he forms an unlikely friendship with them that ultimately turns his world upside down. The rest of the cast is made up of Mariana Treviño, Rachel Keller, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Truman Hanks, Mike Birbiglia, Cameron Britton, Juanita Jennings, Peter Lawson Jones, and others.
